Hello everyone!
It is my goal to either buy, or get into a rent-to-own property (either single family or duplex), in Colorado Springs. If anyone could help me find good opportunities for rent-to-own especially, I would greatly appreciate that. Also any advice as well. I am 25 years old and I earn about $45,000 per year
I don't know your market and price point but based on rent to own statistics you will most likely not end up buying the property.
I'm a really big fan of house hacking (I'm currently house hacking and it's the best decision I've ever made), I was paying about $700 in rent and now my mortgage is $621 and my tenant is paying me $725. of course there are some other expenses but i'm basically living for free.
There are a ton of agents in the area, so you can for sure find people to help getting a place. Not sure about the rent to own part though. I would look around the bases out here, (AFA, Peterson, Fort Carson) they are great for rentals as they get paid to be stationed out here for a year or multiple years at a time. Houses are difficult to purchase because anything around 250k and less have a lot of people bidding over the listed price. If you can pay cash or do a rehab, it might be a better option.
