Recommendation for property management in Indianapolis, IN

Member since 2018 · 7 posts · 2 votes

Hi,

I want to buy my first rental property in Indianapolis, IN. I am looking for a good property management company who can help me find good properties, tenants, and contractors. Pls help me find good companies in that area.

Since I live in California, I do need some suggestions and recommendations regarding locations as well.

Thank you!

depends on what type and how many units and in what sub-market. beware Turn Key if you want to make a return. :)

We have many clients that use City Place Property Management. I have personally used them as well and would recommend them to anyone.

@Joanne Kim I would start looking outside the belt and in the donut counties (those surrounding Marion). Think Shelbyville, Greenwood, Greenfield, Fishers, Franklin...

You might try Mackenzie Allen. They do full service management from providing turnkey, to providing work for your already purchased investment property.

I've always used Moudy Co and been happy.

Hey @Joanne Kim! Sounds like you need to define your criteria so that you can align yourself with the right kind of team. Like @Ivan Barratt mentioned it will all depend on the size of the asset you are interested in buying. Happy to refer some folks on the residential side of things. I would encourage you to network and connect with some folks that are in your area. Chances are there are people near you that are investing in the midwest. I know @Frank Lin happens to be one of them. He may be able to help a fellow Californian if you are nice. ;) Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

@Joanne Kim if you give Clayton Morris a call he can manage your property in Indianapolis from

    Portugal. (This is a joke)

@Joanne Kim Indianapolis can be a great market.  Just like @Justin Polston I like outside the belt.  Let me know if that doesn't make sense.  Be happy to explain that one.

@Ivan Barratt also makes a great point here.  It really depends upon your strategy and the type of properties you are focused on.  Inside the belt can be tough on duplex or MF.  Outside the belt doesn't have quite as much to offer in that vein.

@Nick Giulioni is pretty sharp.  David Moudy has proven his talents and has a high business ethic.  I wouldn't endorse him necessarily, there are few I would endorse.  But he's good!!

I would also be careful about going with one outfit for everything.  Kinda like our government - three separate branches.  Helps keep everything honest.

I appreciate the callout - but not sure if David is taking on new clients currently.  Still might be worth reaching out!
