I've started a direct mail campaign and I've had letters returned. The reason given is the home is vacant and the owners don't have forwarding addresses. I'm using the address listed in the County Assessor.
Any thoughts on how to get in contact with these absentee owners?
Jason, try skip tracing their phone number and making a cold call. I've used Batchleads in the past and I've found ~70% of the time the phone number is can get me to the owner. If you use code TTP it drops the price down to $0.15 per lead, sure beats a $0.55 stamp!
