Welcome, Korey. Starting out in real estate and seeking private money is a smart move, just make sure you’re building trust and bringing solid deals to the table. In markets like Cleveland, where entry costs are lower, private lenders are often open to partnerships if you can show clear numbers, a well-thought-out plan, and how their capital is protected.

That’s exciting you’re ready to dive in, Korey! Getting that first deal always feels like the biggest hurdle. For private money partners, a lot of new investors start by building trust through small projects or joint ventures before asking someone to fund a full deal. It helps to have your goals, exit strategy, and numbers clearly outlined in that way you can show people exactly how you plan to protect their capital and get them a return.

In the meantime, keep networking here and maybe even start talking with local lenders so you understand what terms you might get. Private money often comes after you’ve built relationships and shown you’ve done your homework. What type of first deal are you hoping for? single family, small multi, or something else? Happy to keep the conversation going!

Hey Korey, I'd be glad to share a few of my private money and hard money lender contacts in the Cleveland area.
