New to Wholesaling building connections and learning every day

I’m new to real estate investing and currently focused on learning, networking, and taking action.

One thing I’ve learned is that opportunities often come from relationships. I’m looking to connect with wholesalers, investors, agents, lenders, and anyone building in the real estate space.

If you’re also growing your network, feel free to connect. I’d love to learn from others, share ideas, and support each other’s progress over time.

Looking forward to meeting more people in the community.

Welcome to the community! Great mindset coming in focused on relationships first — that's honestly how most deals actually happen.

I come from the construction side with years in commercial and multifamily. Happy to connect and be a resource anytime you're looking at a deal and want a second set of eyes on the numbers or the scope.

Looking forward to following your journey.

Welcome to the community. You're right that relationships matter, but I'd add that the quality of the relationships matters more than the quantity. The mistake I see new wholesalers make is spending months networking without developing a clear understanding of how to evaluate deals, identify motivated sellers, and understand what buyers in their market actually want.

If I were starting over, I'd focus on learning one market extremely well and building relationships with active investors who are consistently buying there. The reason I say that is opportunities tend to flow toward people who can solve problems and recognize value quickly. Networking becomes much easier when you can have informed conversations about pricing, rents, renovation costs, financing, and local demand. The next step becomes moving from "I'm looking to learn" to "here's what I'm actively working on and here's where I can add value."

What market are you focusing on, and what part of the business interests you most right now—wholesaling, rentals, flips, or something else?

Thanks, Robert. I appreciate the advice.

Right now I’m focused mainly on wholesaling. I’ve started reaching out to off-market owners and have contacted around 50 property owners so far. I’m still learning the process, but I’m getting a better understanding of what motivated sellers look like and how important follow-up is.

I’m currently focusing on Indianapolis and building relationships with active investors while improving my lead generation and acquisition skills.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your perspective.
