My wife and I are saving for a home coming August 2019. We are in the Pensacola FL area. What I local bank do you trust and why? Listening to the podcast a couple days ago suggested local banks so I am curious before we moved any further. Should we go ahead and open up an account with said bank if we find one to have a relationship with them? Thank you so much for your time. I would love to connect if any Pensacola networking meetings are happening soon as well.
@Christian Carle. I recently used Harvesters Federal Credit Union on a land purchase loan and they were quite helpful. They may not have as nice online tools, apps, fancy sites like your traditional big banks but we’re good to work with. They also provide other types of loan you may be looking for in the future (ie Construction). I think it makes sense to go ahead and build relationships with local banks since they can be important partners in achieving your goals. You can get better access with a local bank, you get to know them and vice versa which will make it easier to get things done.
I have my business checking with Penair federal credit union. No fees was the biggest attraction. Pretty simple. But as far as loans go, you may want to start an account with institutions that offer a commercial portfolio loan. The First is an option there.
