Looking for some recommendations for a New York attorney to create and structure LLCs - for existing properties as well as forming an investment group or partners to jointly put in capital on a real estate project.
Looking for someone who has a lot of experience doing this and knows the ins/outs and pitfalls - what to do and best ways to structure deals so it's a win-win-win.
Hi @Libby Tucker: do you have a preference in terms of where the attorney is located within NY? I assume you prefer to work with attorneys that practice in the area that you invest in.
i'm in the process of setting up a company here to invest in real estate, I used a guy called jeff jackson from USA Corporate Service inc, hes not specifically a real estate guy he does all sorts of different arrangements for people but he knows what he's talking about with all things business related, maybe they are worth meeting with, their website is www.usa-corporate.com
try Bob Hilpert. He has a great practice and he is a real estate investor himself! He is located in Croton, NY in Westchester County about 30MIns North of NYC

I have a related question. @Libby Tucker has properties in different states. Do you need a lawyer licensed to practice in each state where the property is based in order to form an LLC? Seems impractical but I just want to make sure as I'm in 3 states now.
