Hello, I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a CPA in/near Des Moines, Iowa who can help us manage our accounting for our rental property and to help prepare us for tax season. Thank you for the help!

Heya Mark - I have been seeking the same in the DSM area (currently utilize a long time associate out of Chicagoland but he's retiring!!!!).
Anyways, I am interviewing the Vroman Group, LLP located in West Des Moines after having them recommended from several local resources.
I'll keep you posted but may be worth checking out independently.

It's definitely beneficial to have someone that's got a local presence, but we're way past the days when that was crucial. On the contrary, today were far more mobile as individuals and as investors and today's local practitioner may not be local to you tomorrow. You need a practice that's designed to handle everything electronically and remotely - no papers, manila envelopes, or shoeboxes. With a firm that leverages apps and the cloud you'll be more efficient and get far better results.

Have a quick question. I'm selling multi family I had for 3 years. I paid 200 put in 30 for boilers and windows selling for 300. How much tax will I owe?

Mark, try reaching out to @Nathaniel Busch or @Brandon Hall, while there are not local to you they both are experts who assisted many of my clients and as Bernard suggested you don't need to have someone local, I totally agree with that. You want someone with the expertise and the ability to help you, location is of small importance.
