Looking to Transition into Commercial Real Estate Lending

Member since 2026 · 47 posts · 9 votes

Hi everyone, my name is Terry and I’m based in Southern California. Over the past several years I’ve been involved in commercial real estate transactions from the borrower side, working  closely with lenders, underwriters, title companies, attorneys, appraisers, contractors, and insurance professionals.

Those experiences sparked a genuine interest in commercial real estate lending. I'm actively pursuing a career in the industry and wanted to introduce myself to the BiggerPockets community. If you're in commercial lending, underwriting, brokerage, or CRE finance, I'd enjoy connecting, learning from your experience, and building relationships. Thank you, and I look forward to being part of the community.

    I have a client who needs a rehab commercial loan for a historic hotel in Ca. Sales price is $3.5M. Can you help with that? :)

      @Shannon Wright

      Hey Shannon, apologies for the delay — just saw this. I’m now working commercial/DSCR lending and would love to take a look. A $3.5M historic hotel rehab is a great scenario to run. If it’s still needing a home, feel free to send details (or DM works too) and I’ll see what fits.
