I have a section 8 tenant and I won't be renewing his lease. He is looking for a 2+ bed 1.5+ SFR or townhome with a yard. A garage would be a plus as he works on cars for a living. He is a good tenant, but his unit is way overdue for complete reno and I don't have another empty unit for him. Just trying to find him and his boy a new home.
@Tim Schmitz I would recommend you give him ample time to move when he does find something. Sect 8 is horribly backlogged. Simple tasks are taking weeks for them to complete. It'll take a while for them to process the new application and inspections on the unit. It's ridiculous how slowly they're operating right now.
Thanks much for the good advice. I had not thought of that, but it sure fits with my other experiences dealing with the CHA. His lease is up the end of October, but I have already notified him I am not renewing, hopefully giving him plenty of time.
