Hi everyone :)
Pretty new here on BP and can't seem to find a REI group around Morgantown...Does anyone know of one!? Forums are great for many things, but sometimes there's just no substitution for chatting face-to-face. (If there's not one, I'd be willing to start one). Be sure to Tag a friend if you think they might know.

I'm in Putnam County, but split time down in Charlotte as well. Obviously, logistics are an issue with a bunch of us being from all different locations in the state, but that doesn't mean we can't connect, chat, and who knows, maybe even work on some future deals together.

Just shot you a message, Andrew! Anyone available for some coffee this Sunday, at Annies in Morgantown? I should be available most of the day, lets get this REI meetup going!! Let me know a time thats good for you guys.
Anyone mind if I join the party? I am very very new to REI and I haven't been able to find a group for Morgantown anywhere. I also just joined BiggerPockets so I can see that was also a good investment, lol.
Hey Anthony! Hope your rocking the Real Estate scene down there. I’m planning to get my license myself after I finish this flip. I’m excited to see the deals first before everyone else. Hit me up for a coffee when your in town. What’s your niche down south Wv ?
After having a hell of a first year in real estate, I really want to focus on bringing out of state investors into our market. I'm actually gathering some data for a future post on investment opportunites as we speak. With the low entry points and rising rental rates, I see a great chance to capitalize on some Fix&flips as well as long term holds!

Of course Josh Bernstein, welcome to the party! Your just in time, I don’t think anyone has even met up yet.
Sounds great Anthony! Interesting,, bringing out of state investors. What’s a small clean 2 bed, 1 bath bring in monthly? Can you get them for like 40k or better?

Looks like I'm joining in at the right time and found the right thread. I'm 36, living in Morgantown, and brand new to the idea of real estate investing being a possibility for me. I'd love to meet others that have been in it for a while. Did anyone decide on a time for a meetup?

Welcome to BP! @Ramsey Persing I don’t think there has been a definitive time for a meet up yet. There’s a few of us in here now, so we could shoot for a day over the weekend.

Hello @Ramsey Persing! Welcome to the party! Congratulations on taking the first step. After I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad, that’s what propelled me to take action.

Hi Joshua, I'm on board with that. I spoke to my business partner and a wholesaler I'm acquainted with. Neither are on bigger pockets, but both are on Facebook and interested in a meet up.

@ Michael Colebank - I have a similar group for the Mid-Ohio Valley. Just a suggestion - I would make some rules and make folks answer a few screening questions to be accepted into the group. If not, you'll have every RE Agent listing their MLS properties on there which will dilute the content.
Anyone interested in investing in the Mid-Ohio Valley? (Marietta, Parkersburg, Vienna, areas?)

Hi Everyone!!
I wanted to introduce myself and most definitely join this group. It is good to see investors in the Morgantown area finally come together and create something. I have applied for the Facebook group as well.
I am a real estate investor in Morgantown and currently hold 32 units (11 solely owned and the rest partnerships). Mostly all of them are college rentals and some commercial units on high street. We have also just launched our new endeavor "Red Brick Properties" which is a property management firm we have worked on for the last year and has finally launched. We just launched in Jan 2021 and have already picked up significant clients from the monopoly in town "Bel-Cross".
Anyway, that is my little intro and would love to be apart of this group. I believe getting more investors in Morgantown can really help turn around a lot of the neglected homes downtown.

@Philip Arthur Thank you for your advice. I took it and created some screening questions and rules. Come join our group, I'm going to ask to join your's. That area has some good investment opportunities.
@David Flores That's great! It sounds like you have a good deal of experience. You're doing cool stuff too. I'm looking forward to your input.

@Andrew Baughman We are coming to WV in June and want to start looking at investment properties prior to arrival. "West by God Virginians take care of each other. Take care, talk soon". That is so comforting to hear. I grew up in a small community in Minnesota and we always watched out for our neighbors and families. We closed our doors to keep out the critters. Never locked 'em. I remember coming back from a long family vacation catching the neighborhood 2-3 years kids old eating all of our ice cream with pickles as the topping on the back patio. One of the kids was still in diapers. It was funny! Nobody was in trouble.
