Looking for reliable, affordable, and experienced General Contractors for a fha 203k rehab in Gary, Indiana
You will need to have your lender search the vendor list for contractors, or send it to you to get someone off the list and hire them. I just went through one of these with a client. Lender pulled the list, called the closest guy and we used him. I would also call multiple GCs off that list, not all are willing/able to work.

If you’re looking for a 203k contractor, I’d reach out to Tom Michalic. He’s based around the Indianapolis market but he has a national network and can usually get you connected with the right 203k contractor wherever you are. He also knows the lender rules and draw process which is half the battle on these projects. Here’s his channel so you can get a feel for how he works https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0BKVWYEbL8U0fEJ5Fh14-A.
I'd recommend using a Certified 203k Contractor. The 203k is not a normal renovation process and contractors should know the ins/outs of the 203k guidelines, processes, timelines, paperwork, nuances, variations, payment process, change order, draws, etc. Otherwise, they are doing it blindly and that is extremely difficult.
Hey @Andre Strickland - How large of renovation are you planning? We primarily work in Chicago, and we are actually on the website that @Paul Welden recommended, but we probably wouldn't show up for NW Indiana.
