Hey everyone, I'm Bette Hochberger, a CPA specializing in real estate and cryptocurrency. Let's explore the rising trend of using digital assets in property transactions! Some sellers now accept cryptocurrencies, offering faster transactions, reduced fees, and enhanced security. But with that, we must consider volatility and evolving regulations. It's an exciting transformation in the real estate industry, attracting more international buyers and opening new opportunities. It's amazing how far crypto and real estate have become.

I've heard of people buying real estate with crypto gains.. but are people really buying real estate with crypto? Sounds like a painful and risky transaction for both sides.

Hi Bette. Is this really happening a lot? I don't have any crypto myself but I haven't seen a lot of sellers accepting it in the south FL market. How would it work from an accounting and capital gains perspective? I imagine it is the value of the crypto has to be taken into account on the day of the closing? I have a lot more questions but I will save those for now haha.

We're also seeing more lenders starting to accept crypto, allowing borrowers to use crypto currency to cover down payments and closing costs.
