Do I need to get a CRM to be successful in Wholesaling?

Hello all, I see people here and there talking about what the best CRM is, benefits it can give and so on. My question is do I really need to have a CRM to be successful Wholesaling?

To be successful in wholesaling real estate you need deal flow, real buyers, knowledge, persistence, and smarts.  A CRM is a tool of efficiency, very helpful but not a building block of success

@Brixter Pax Rabara depends on how robust your marketing efforts are. If you are just doing light contact sellers then you can spend your time calling each one back (average is 7 tries to contact). If you are spending dollars on campaigns, multiple ones then you will get frustrated or broke trying to keep up. Build a small automation system while you are starting out, then allow it to scale as your business grows. If the system won’t allow this in the beginning you will have to migrate the data to a more robust system later

This is one of those questions that will generate a lot of answers. A CRM is a powerful time saving tool when coupled with the right automation sequences. It can be a useful lead organizing tool without automation but that can be done without a CRM tool.

I would say yes absolutely, in some form. You should be able to track your lead sources, marketing, and most importantly relationships. When to follow up with a future seller, their problems and reasons to sell, lead ratings etc. You can’t remember everything about those 12 people that call you when they want to sell. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just start with a spreadsheet like excel or google sheets for now until you can afford/need something complex. There are CRM templates for those programs, they’re rough but free and a decent start.
