Is there anyone in Northeast Tarrant county besides me that would be interested in starting a BiggerPockets meetup group? I know we have REI meetings here but most if not all of them are focused on presenting gurus and their products. I would like to see a group that meets purely to share information and help each other succeed. And we could have a seasoned investor speak at each meeting. I will be happy to help put it together. Would anybody else be interested?

Hey Kathy Armstrong - Also, BTW - Using words in your posts, like Ft. Worth or Arlington, will let BiggerPockets members who have Keyword Alerts set up for those terms will get notified. It's a good technique to get people together for meetups!

Kathy, we've had numerous BP meetups in DFW. They have not been as structured as you're suggesting, although some newer BP members have recently suggested same as you. The next informal networking meetup is scheduled for August 16th in Irving, not too far from NE Tarrant. Here's the link.

Kathy Armstrong, Count my in for sure! I have a huge rehab in progress here in Fort Worth - I wouldn't mind taking everyone on a tour so they can "see" it in progress. And I really like the idea of sharing ideas and suggestions - somewhat like a mastermind group. Let's do it!
Lyndon Hughey and Adam Roberts, what say you guys? John Chapman might even have some interest as he has investment properties here in Fort Worth. Heck, I'll bet even Alexander Bustos would travel from Irving to get here.

Kathy, just like Carlos mentioned. Me and a few other BPs are organizing meet ups in Dfw. We had one last month that had a great turn out! Come out to this months and I would love to talk with you about organizing it. I could use all the help I can get. I'm doing this on my spare time to hopefully get things going for others. So if you would send me a PM lets talk about creating your idea. And yes Dan you know I am open to travel and network, that's a given :) so te idea of having some meetings to meetup at a rehab or at a completed rehab etc would be cool. Jerry and I also talked about having more formal meetings. So Kathy I could use your help.

As for the rehab, we have just completed the demo and foundation work. Framers, tile guys and painters will be in this week. We should be 100% complete in the next 2-3 weeks.

@Kathy Armstrong , what are your thoughts on a time and place for meetups here in Tarrant County? I am already part of a mastermind group in Dallas but would love to meet other investors in our neck of the woods ;-)

Right now I am working on getting a good meet up going for the Irving location which is pretty centrally located for both Dallas and Fort Worth. But I would be happy to partner with you on setting something up for Fort Worth. This is all a work in progress and I am open to all suggestions. We can have open suggestions at the next meet up in Irving on the 30th. I am also very interested in a mastermind group. One of the things we are going to do at the meetup is have sign up sheets for anyone interested in forming small mastermind groups. So anyone that has good ideas about successful mastermind groups, please contact me.

Rebecca, when you say mastermind, what do you mean? I think there are several definitions of mastermind going around. For me, it would be described as a small group that meets weekly in person or on the phone to come up with ideas, support each other, share resources and hold each other accountable. I think some people are referring to a meetup type group when they refer to a mastermind group. I am interested in both. In fact at the meeting in Irving we are going to have a place for people to sign up that would like to be in a small mastermind group.
