How does everyone come up with yellow letter mailing lists?

Question

I'm a newbie and have a question re yellow letters. I'm interested in buying single family homes. What is the best way to target folks and come out with a mailing list? How should I formulate a list? Neighborhood, absentee, etc...and what is the best way to obtain this info? Thanks for any info you can share.

There are several different niches you can target, such as probates, pre foreclosure and absentee. Absentees by far get targeted the most because the information is so easily gathered through public records. Other groups, such as probates can be much harder to build a list for depending on how the county handles them.

Most people use data services such as ListSource or Melissa Data. Click2Mail also has mailing lists available. Many of the mailing services can source your list for you as well.

Hello deadrick,  check out the beginners guide in the marketing chapter, there is also a podcast for direct mail under the learn tab at the top of the page.  I do not have any personal expeirence in this yet, but there is alot good tips that make since in the resources i mentioned.  Hope this helps!
