Real Estate Clubs & Meetups in DC / Northern Virginia

Hello everyone,

I’m 23 and recently moved back to the Falls Church area after living in Dallas for just under a year. I’m looking to get more involved in the local real estate community and meet other people who are actively investing.

I’m interested in finding real estate investment clubs, meetups, networking groups, or other events where I can meet investors, learn, and build some relationships in the area.

While I’m based in Northern Virginia, I’m also very interested in out-of-state investing since the DC/NOVA market can be pretty expensive. So I’d be interested in groups where people invest locally as well as investors who are buying in other markets.

If anyone knows of any good groups or recurring meetups in DC, Northern Virginia, or the surrounding area, I’d love to hear about them. Also interested in hearing about any groups or events that you’ve personally found worthwhile.

Thanks!

@Nathan Legg, welcome back to the area. I’m in the DMV too, and I’ve built a lot of great real estate relationships through local investor events and industry groups over the years.

One thing I’ve learned is not to limit yourself to rooms that are only filled with investors. Some of the best connections come from events where you also meet lenders, attorneys, title professionals, property managers, contractors, and agents. Those relationships become really valuable once you start looking at actual deals, especially if you plan to invest outside the area too. I’d be glad to stay connected. I always enjoy meeting people who are getting more involved in the DMV real estate community.

Diana, thank you for your reply. Do you have any specific groups/events in mind where you made these connections? I would love to research them further.

I would be happy to connect. Thank again for your input!

hey nathan, i buy properties at tax deed auctions in florida so i've done a lot of networking on here rather than in person. the biggerpockets meetups page has some local groups for the dmv area, and there are reia meetups that pop up in fairfax and arlington pretty regularly. honestly though if you're interested in out-of-state stuff like i am, most of the real relationships i've built have been right here on bp and through direct outreach rather than local meetups. the local networking is great for finding contractors and property managers but for finding deals in cheaper markets you can do almost everything remotely.

      Hi Igor,

Really appreciate your response. I'll check out the Fairfax/Arlington REIA meetups for building for building local connections and work to network on here to build relationships for out-of-state focused investing.

I am interested to learn more about buying properties at tax deed auctions like you do yourself. Would you be willing to tell me more about it and what your process looks like? Additionally, are there any resources you could provide to learn more?

      Thanks again!
