Hey Matt! Love when investors have GC experience! Such a big advantage.

Hello Bigger Pockets! Big fan of the podcast! I'm an experienced investor and GC. Lets Connect.

Welcome, @Matt McGuire . Being both an investor and a GC gives you an interesting perspective because you get to see a property from both the ownership side and the construction side. I’m curious what type of investing you’re focused on these days.

I’m a real estate attorney, broker, and investor, and I’ve worked with property owners where the construction itself wasn’t necessarily the problem. The bigger issue was an unclear scope, changes that were never properly documented, or different expectations about who was responsible for what. It has definitely made me appreciate the value of having experienced people involved on both sides of a project.

Glad you joined, @Matt McGuire. Construction and real estate law cross paths quite a bit in my work, so I always enjoy connecting with investors who understand that side of the business firsthand. Happy to stay connected and exchange perspectives.
