The factors that determine whether or not solar is a good investment for an individual are electricity usage, roof space/location/azimuth/shading/framing/electrical main panel/physical system design and pricing, local utility rebates and net metering agreement, and ability to claim the federal tax credit (thanks for that George Bush, and thanks Trump for renewing it).
