I also use them during vacancy turnovers since those turnovers are fully automated, self-serve showings, but you have to have a way to ensure batteries get swapped out regularly, then run a separate cellular network to push updates to the locks over time, which is a another added cost.

I have not been happy with Wink since I first got it because after spending hours getting it set up, I discovered the interface with the lock we had, Yale YRD120 T1L, provided no useful features beyond remotely alerting me to a low battery condition.

Of course after I got the house I plumbed in a nice new set up, with battery back up.

It also has a 24-hour battery backup with a warning when it loses power.

Regarding the "replace smoke detector batteries" keep in mind that there are 10-year devices that never need battery replacements.
