If that's the case, then $275K is the right number, regardless of the actual cost.The problem here is that the OP is telling us two completely different things, and without knowing what the actual agreement was between him and his partners, there's no way to decipher whether he did the right thing or the wrong thing here.

...my oldest son has a whole life policy that he just took withdrew $$$ out on, but trying to read through the paperwork and decipher before/after consequence was a nightmare.

This can easily be deciphered after reading the early trend indicator. ....it's just matter of how deep the price reduction would be.Case-Shiller month-to-month index is already showing August 2022 is equal to Jan 2007 (the peak of GFC 2008 crash) where the index is negative.

Becaue direct ownership we could have control with fixed rate debt that's guaranteed by gov, our asset would usually flat or going up/stable, since it's controllable it's more like 'passive'. single family residential is not valued by the movement of cap rate, but it's valued by the real market supply-demand metrics.in all my direct asset everything is going up with scale of 20-40% IRR, so all these naives LP investors are just being fooled so much by the most teaching in real estate and they're not unable to decipher whether what they learnt is accurate or not.
