I’m having a structural engineer come out and quote me, but if he quotes too high, I’m looking to get a better price on the home. 

Using residential loans for investment deals are like trying to use a steam engine to power the internet, you can do it, it just ain’t smart.

Perhaps, most importantly, is reverse engineering the math on leads and marketing.

Plus just simply keeping an eye on some properties through a Redfin (or similar RE search engine) for a while will give you a better feel for the areas in which you’re looking.
