The only data points I have are permits pulled (which don't seem to be down much), local builder incentives (which continue to blow my mind) and the quarterly earnings of the national publicly traded builders, which all seem to be down 25% or more year over year  market specific..

@Chaim MalGood advice from @Nicholas L.I'd add that you don't want to only trust the agent's word, they need to show you data that will justify the purchase for your goals (why you want to invest in real estate).

You can use AirDNA for this data but be careful because AirDNA past data doesn't lead to future results and I do know that Airbnb and NY don't get along so you need to search for these laws and restrictions if they have any.3.
