then in the 50s 60 70s you had land sales men ( Glen Garry Glen Ross movie) and then you had metal siding salesmen ( pushing tin)I grew up with a Dad that was a land sales men in the 60s and the movie dead on accurate of how the business was done.Then it morphed to timeshare sales or as its affectingly know Crime share..

And one point the OP made about their credit.. only gurus talk about that.. by the time someone is days away from foreclosure their credit is trashed having it actually go to sale will hurt a tiny bit .. but your not saving anything.

(Tiny old postage stamp lots)in parts of the bay area its mandatory to change the drain line when houses are sold if they are a certain age and still clay pipe.. my brother in law does a ton of them.. realtors are his source.. many times they just pipe burst.. and are done in a few hours for 6 to 8k. when I was doing my rental thing in the deep south we could get a new PVC from house to street 50 ft or so for 1500 or so.. if we did it during rehab and not under stress..
