I left Greece in 2007, just before the bottom fell out of the Greek economy, came to the USA and married a Russian/Ukrainian immigrant in 2012.

You might be able to find something in a neighbouring state to the east which is within driving distance.

The problem arises when other tenants or neighbours find out he is a registered sex offender.

Greece was a recent one to navigate this, at a miniscule fraction that of what US would have to suffer.
