This really is a great market, but there are a few local requirements that often surprise people after they close.If you’re investing here, make sure you’re familiar with:Lead Safe Certification for pre-1978 rentals (this trips people up a lot and is the most time consuming)The city’s Local Agent in Charge requirement if you’re not localRental registration requirements for LLCs This is in no way trying to scare anyone off — I have seen too many happy investors become frustrated when there is a delay getting the property on the market.
