Recommendations for Home Owners Insurance for Rental Property

HI,

For all the real estate investors out there, can you please recommend a company to use for home owner's insurance? I recently purchased a duplex and its rented out on both sides. I would be grateful to hear your suggestions.

    If you or one of your parents are a veteran then go with USAA, that's who we use.

    You will need a landlord policy, not home owners policy. The premium for a LL policy is typically lower since it doesn't cover personal property.

    Always require tenants to show proof of renters insurance, this protects you as well.
