Question, how do you find out the approximate taxes and home owners insurance on prospective properties you are looking to purchase? On Zillow for example, the taxes generally look correct (I think) but the home insurance numbers look way too low.. Thanks.

Zillow taxes are usually close because they’re pulled from public records, but the insurance estimates are often meaningless. For taxes, confirm with the county assessor and check the current mill rate, exemptions, and whether the sale will trigger reassessment. For insurance, the only reliable method is to get actual quotes from local agents based on the property’s age, construction, location, and intended use.
