Hi everyone,
I am brand new to real estate investing. I currently live in NYC. I would like to be bi-coastal and live with my brother in LA. He currently lives there now. We talked about investing in a multi-family or duplex home and renting it out to people. We would like to live in one of the units and hopefully live rent-free. Does anyone have any advice for us and what is the best area in LA to invest?

@Account Closed LA has very competitive for rental income property but not impossible. I am somewhat in your situation, but I've lived in LA for a while now. Send me a message and let's see if there's something we can work out.
@Xander Tang welcome to BP ! You have to decide where do you want to live? What kind of communities do you want to live? what kind of condition on the property? fixer upper or move in condition? How much can you afford in downpayment and / or monthly mortgage?
