What are some good tips on what to look for when buying a rental property to see if it’s in a good area or good neighborhood? How can I research that?
Hey Josh,
To find the best neighborhoods, I would start off with a simple zillow search for multi-family properties in different areas. Highlight a 5-10 properties that catch your eye and look up the local school district and local precinct - for accurate crime stats.
To get "a feel" for the neighborhood, I recommend driving by the different areas during weekends and evenings.
Lastly, a local Realtor can point you in the right direction if you have a particular price point in mind. Get specific with your criteria so you can make sure you lock down the right Realtor.
