New Investor: Where to find market info?

James Payne
Posted

This is my first post in the BP forums! I am 23 years old and just starting my real estate journey. I regularly listen to the BP podcasts, read the BP forums and have read several REI books. While my time learning the basics is by no means complete I would like to start researching areas to invest in. While Zillow and Redfin are very helpful, I feel like they aren't the best sources for investor research. Can anyone recommend good sources for markets trends, market numbers, rent prices, etc.?

I'd like to start investing in a Texas market. No reason other than TX is my home state and I believe we have many strong areas for investment. If it helps I'm also leaning toward the BRRRR strategy.

Thanks!
