Tyler Cabrera Have you read the Beginners Guide to Investing? Click on the tab "learn" at the top of the page. Honestly, just snoop around this site, and you'll learn a lot, and listen t the podcasts.

You might consider taking a Real Estate Principles class online, or at a community college. It gives you a good basic education on real estate. I know there were some good deals in Bakersfield, but I don't know if they're still plentiful or not.

Anyway, welcome to BP! It's always good to see young people getting involved. We have a 25 year old son that works with us, he does the design on our projects. Have fun!

    Hey Tyler,

Congratulations on your early start. The best thing I've done for my investing education is finding a local mentor. I suggest you do the same. While there are plenty of so-called "investing" books out there, most of those I've been recommended are those motivational books that have a lot of great ideas, but no practical information.

Get active in your local real estate investing associations near you and learn as much as you can. Perhaps try to get a job involved in the real estate field. Craigslist has real estate job listings and it's where I actually found my current job.

I firmly believe that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

    Best of luck to you.

Jenkins Ramon Thank you again ill update you when i check into some of those articles and Podcast!

Dalton SummersThank you. I would love to get a job and learn more that way by getting into real estate as a job but currently I work for the IBEW union and that is what is brining my income in. Any other ideas?

Honestly, I'd suggest you start replying to every real estate related part-time position on Craigslist and line up a job there so you can quit your current job. It's what I did. I'm still a full-time student at OSU and I'm able to manage 25 hours a week just fine. I'm sure a property management company near you has a part-time leasing position available too.

Dalton Summers sounds reasonable I would love to its just hard to actually do that when your brining in 80k a year at 19 years old. Until I actually start making more money with assets hint real estate.

Haha good god. You don't need to know anything about RE then. Get a knowledgeable real estate agent near you to set you up with turn-key properties and a property management company.
