Hey all! I am a new (hopeful) real estate investor but am a little overwhelmed on where to begin. Obviously, I know picking a market should be the first step so that lead me to get lost in a sea of Google results and articles.
Thought I'd stop by here and ask the experts; where is your favourite place to get market research when looking for a new opportunity? Do you have any go-to sites? Any other approaches you take?
The best place to learn about where to invest is by talking to other investors who have accomplished what you hope to accomplish. Ask them about their market and how they've been able to do what they do. They know their markets better than anyone and can really show you why an area is better than others even though google says otherwise. I'd be happy to help.
The articles on BP here can get you very far. Meet and talk with others investors to apply your knowledge in real scenarios. That being said, there are many great tools for doing research on a property. You can go on zillow right now and start analyzing properties using the BP calculators and past prices. Tools like propstream or mls (agents) take it to the next level. It allows you to see past history/sale/comps.
