Whether you're working with a bank, private lender, or hard money lender, every lender seems to have a slightly different approval process.
From your experience, what factors make the biggest difference when reviewing a loan application?
Is it the borrower's experience, credit profile, liquidity, the deal itself, or something else?
I'd also love to hear from other lenders and mortgage professionals, what do you look for first when evaluating a loan request?
I think it comes down to the borrower's honesty and loyalty. They can be the worst client on paper, but if they are willing to follow the loan officer's lead, are cooperative with underwriting and the process itself, and can be straight forward, any deal will be 100% worth the effort and approval.
