Here's a self-serving question - for those of you out there who have been regularly using BiggerPockets for months or years - when did things "click"?
When did you realize the power of BiggerPockets and it's ability to help you grow your business? What keeps you around and posting hundreds or thousands of times?
I'm fascinated by this and want to help others get that same feeling.
For me - it was the first time I posted about wanting to invest here in Denver, CO, and some folks reached out to me with the clearly serious intention of helping me see it through. I eventually ended up working with one of them (@Micki M. )to buy my first property!
My "AHA" moment came when I was searching the web for info on my most recent run in with the newest "Guru" in the area, the first result that popped up led me to a forum on Gurus, then I became hooked. Since then BP has given my the confidence and education that I needed to get back into pursuing my dream as a real estate investor. I'm very grateful that a site like this exist, and in the beginning thought it was too good to be true, thought for sure there was going to be a "catch". Obviously as we all know by now there is not!
BP to me is a tramendus group of sincere, passionate individuals all looking to accomplish the same goal of "Fiancial Freedom"

I agree with those that stated the podcasts were the moment. Hell, I've only been on here for 11 days and have listened to about 20 podcasts. They are the way I'm learning right now. I'd be lost without them.
Great thread, perfect for BP! Seems like AHA moments happen every day here. I have never been part of such amazing community providing such valuable information.
My first AHA was when @Thripura Vemireddi reached out to me to grab some lunch. I have never had a lunch date before come from the Internet haha. Went great and I am looking forward to working with him in the future. From then, I have continued meeting local Atlanta investors which is probably the most important key in the beginning, along with taking action of course. Starting local helps you build the foundation for the future. You wouldn't buy a property without foundation, would you?
Love this place, let's keep everyone's success going strong.
Understanding that most of the different REI strategies can be used together to build a business model that fits you. For example, we are looking to build a pipeline of leads through marketing to find good properties to fix and flip. We want to wholesale any leads we don't have the capital for and hold any properties which would be great rentals. BuggerPockets and the podcasts have been instrumental in helping us build our business.
Thanks for the awesome feedback everyone! As an update, I kind of grouped the responses into a couple of categories so we can see where the "AHA!" Moments come from (:
Some type of "Networking" moment - 18 of you
Some type of "Podcast" moment - 16 of you
Some type of other "Learning" Moment - 11 of you
Someone else's "Success Story" - 2 of you
"Teaching Others" - 2 of you
"My Friends hang out here" (or something like that) - @Ben Leybovich
My aha moment was when I arrived at the 2012 BP Denver Summit. I had just started a teaching career, but my husband encouraged me to go and learn to help with our small rental portfolio. Being in a room with 300 like minded people was like finding home..and a year later I had a totally new career as a real estate agent/investor. So grateful to have found what I love to do, with the support of BP.
@Scott Trench - interesting stats. I am a definitely a testimony for the power of networking face to face with others. I say it so often...but everyone can and should invest a little time and money to network with others that have gone where you want to go, and to give time to those just starting as well.
