Brand new to Real Estate Investing

Hello everybody, I'm very new to Real Estate Investing, I'm being told by others the best place to start is Wholesaling until I learn it without question before venturing into other areas of real estate. I have yet to do my first deal and I don't know how to go about it properly. I have a lot to learn and am all to willing to follow instructions and guidance from someone who would be willing to help me get off the ground per se. I have been reading lots of material about Wholesaling from several different people that have been in the business for years yet all the information I have been reading is jumbled in my head, trying to sort it all out has been quite troublesome for me, just being honest, thanks.
