Hey guys,
I was just informed that there's a law requiring you to be "certified" with NY in order to do rehab to mobile homes. This is the first I'm hearing about this.
I've looked on the states webpage and there is indeed a certification program, but I can't tell if it's specfically for dealers who are buying/selling mobile homes. Does this also apply to a company who owns mobile homes in their mobile home park?
I'm not sure what each state requires. Below pdf, isn't all that clear about rehabbing work requires the certificate, but it didn't say that the park owner to be certified.
@Victoria E. - Yeah, this was all I've been able to dig up as well. I'm hoping the park owner doesn't need to hire a certified "mechanic" to do repairs to park owned homes.
@Michael Ablan That's news to me. You may want to check with the local government entity in charge of manufactured homes for clarification. You can also ask your local manufactured housing association which tends to be a great resource for mobile home park owners. Hope that helps!
