If I was to spot vacant land while driving for dollars and spot vacant land, how do I find out what the address is? It is not like a house that has a home address number on the house or mailbox.

In lieu of a street address vacant land is usually identified by its Parcel Number (APN) or GPS coordinates. In the circumstance you outlined I would suggest going with some kind of GPS marker until you could nail down the actual APN.

What if I don't have a GPS marker? I have no satellite navigation system to pinpoint me what the location is.

Look at the surrounding addresses….figure it out.  If all the lots are vacant, find the street on your county property records site, map function….figure it out.

You can find the legal description on CAD, or pull up Zillow and click on the parcel of land.

If you have a phone that can use Google maps then you have what you need for GPS. Simply mark the spot on your Google maps and then when you're back home you can pull it up on your computer and review the GPS details.

There is an app called Landglide that can help with that. It will give you parcel info based on your current location. It is what I use when viewing land in person to see approximate lot lines and parcel data.
