Any experience with hiring out an open house agent?

My wife is currently SUPER pregnant, I have a scheduled open house for this Sunday but worried about leaving my wife alone as the house is over an hour away. Does anyone have any experience with hiring an agent to host the open house? How do I find these agents? What's the typical going rate?

As for the open house, many new or less-experienced agents are eager to host them since it gives them exposure and a chance to connect with potential buyer clients. You can reach out to local agent networking groups, or check with a broker to see if they have someone in their brokerage willing to do it. The going rate varies by market, but some agents will do it for free in exchange for any unrepresented buyer leads, while others may charge $50-$100 depending on the demand in your area.

It depends if you want the leads or not.

In my market agents will host an open house for free as long as they get the leads.

The last two times I was selling a house random local realtors reached out asking if they could host open houses. (I assume trying to get free leads or market their name as the local expert.)

If no one at your broker will help, reach out to new realtors. (Or “neighborhood experts”) You can offer some money too. But it’s their chance to learn, meet people, network and advertise themselves.

No idea about Texas, but I normally pay one of the brokers in my firm 50 bucks to do the open house. Are you the only broker in your firm?
