Want to buy a duplex, not sure how to go about doing it. please help

Newbie here. I want to buy a duplex and am not sure how to find them. Do I get a realtor?
I also have no idea what I can afford or what I would qualify for.
Would a realtor help me out with these first steps? If I do need a realtor, do I need to find an investor friendly one? man i suck at this, please help lol
