Hello - I am planning to start a multifamily portfolio in the Houston area. As I am new in Houston, I just have started building up a network. I am looking for a multifamily specialized agent who can help in in finding the right properties.

Hi @Matt Donker came across this forum thread while searching for people who have discussed multi-family investments in the Houston area. I just finished my first fix and flip, and would like to build up some cash flow through multifamily units. However, I'm finding that the competition is strong in Houston and as such it's a challenge to find a good deal without paying too much (especially in the budget I'm in which is around $250k. I've been considering areas such as Westchase, 3rd Ward, and East End. I wondered if you were successful in getting multifamily properties in Houston and if you could share some insight into how you found these deals?

@Matt Donker I would start getting on lists for multifamily listing brokers as well. Start reviewing deals that are currently listed for sale. Some of the larger multifamily brokers in Houston are: ARA, Berkadia, HFF, and Transwestern.

Good Evening @Matt Donker and @Cayce Baierski. I've been in the property management business for going on 9 years now and i own a property management company. We cover from orange to the other side of katy, up to Splendora and down to San Leon. Covering this much territory allows me to keep an eye on multiple market both in the heart of Houston and all of the surrounding areas. One thing is for sure the rental market has definitely not slowed down! Is the inner city the only markets you are interested in exploring?

@Alissa Gallardo you're right, it's definitely not slowing! I am open to other areas as well - I hear places like Lake Jackson are good to invest in for rental properties.
