My nephew is a freshman in college in the Houston area and taking some real estate classes as he sees a future in REI. He's looking for an internship for the Summer 2026 where he can get some solid exposure to rental properties operations (prop mgmt, tenant placement, marketing, etc). Essentially, he wants to build some foundational skills and knowledge, ideally something that would also include some in-person responsibilities (maintenance coordination and lease showings).
Does anyone know of opportunities that could be good potential starts for him in the Houston area?

Hi Daniel,
My builder is currently looking for an assistant. It’s a great opportunity to learn the basics of construction, join showings, and get exposure to marketing for new homes. It’s not focused on leasing specifically, but there are some similarities.
