How to find property owner records in Florida?

is there a place/registry in Florida where I can research an investor?  I'm looking to find some information to verify if the investors owns properties as they say they do.

I work in two counties in Florida. I know you can access the county property appraiser's website to get information. You can search by name, address, parcel ID, etc.  Here are the two sites I use:

Pasco County  http://appraiser.pascogov.com/

Hillsborough County http://www.hcpafl.org/

I'm sure most counties have a similar site that you can search.

@Jennifer Tan @Brett Youngster there is a site you can go to that will take you to public records anywhere in the country.

http://publicrecords.netronline.com

Click on the desired state on the map, then click on the county.

Then click on go to data online for the desired site.

The property appraiser/assessor site will give you ownership info, sales info and property info.

The clerk of courts/register of deeds will tell you about mortgages, liens, foreclosures, etc.

Tax collector should give you the info on if the taxes are current.

Hope this helps.

try a local broker ... They have access to mls that can tell you just about anything you need to know. If someone is flipping you a home the deed may not be recorded yet however there may be a mls record to lookup. You can also try your local title company
