I have considered the option of buying a vacation property that could be rented out through a time-share company. Does anyone have experience with this? Any thoughts on vacation properties with the current economic climate?

Why would you rent out through a time-share company? Around here the real estate companies handle it turn-key.
I'm certainly watching local vacation rentals as they drop in value, but so far the numbers don't crunch. And the economy is one helluva wildcard at this point.
Plus, do you have much hands-on experience managing rentals? If you don't handing over the keys to someone else can get dicey.
