Oh, and don't forget that since you are refi'ing it looks like, the refi's get pushed to the bottom of the pile. Purchases that have "real" closing dates are the priority. I'm sure that makes sense.
Lenders actually hire a third party appraiser to complete the appraiser and don't have much control over their turn times. It depends on how busy the appraiser is. How long have you been waiting for an appraisal?
Is your issue the refi and 6 months? Or just getting the appraisal? We've had multiple discussion threads recently about using delayed financing so you don't have to wait 6 months after purchase to refi. But, its not a cash out refi...
@David M. Well it's more towards the appraiser It took about two months to have it appraised and refinance the bank only took about two weeks once they got the paperwork from appraisers.
Sorry for the slow reply been a busy week and thank for your time
Oh, for the appraisal, not that I know of. At times they get slammed... Maybe if you go with a different lender since they might be using a different appraisal service (lenders no longer work directly with appraisers, there is some sort of third party intermediary) they might have a different pool. But, I'm not sure at all if that matters. Honestly, probably not...

Appraisals are a bottleneck across most of the country right now. You could try different lenders who have different AMCs, but that could add complications as well. 2 weeks turn time for the bank isn't too bad. Many are faster, many are slower.
The appraisal process can be a lengthy one. It often takes weeks or months to go through the process, but with some help from the right people, it doesn't have to take nearly as long. The key is finding an appraiser who will work quickly and not get bogged down in minutiae. To find an appraiser that will meet your needs, consider searching for someone who is familiar with your type of property: If you need a single-family home appraisal, find an appraiser who has done many single-family home appraisals and has completed them in a timely manner. The same holds true for commercial real estate – if you want to get the best service and most accurate appraisal, hire someone with experience in that particular kind of property. There are different considerations when performing an appraisal for high-rise buildings versus warehouses, so keep this in mind while hiring someone to do this job. Property type will greatly impact the cost of the appraisal as well, so it's important to consider all costs related to getting your appraisal done before agreeing on any price quotes from competing companies.
