I hired Hall CPA as advisors, tax preparers, and to transfer my quickbooks to online. BIG MISTAKE!!!! They are clearly revenue driven and not concerned about customer experience. There is a huge disconnect between the sales person and the actual servicer. They cost me more money than I saved by not filing my taxes when promised and not delivering contracted work for months. I will be using the firm for my 2022 tax return (1040 and 3 LLC's), expensive (about $5k-6k) but given they've assisted with the tax planning I'm hopeful the synergy will provide the best outcome.

Just want to confirm, that is HallCPA fee for filling 2022 tax for one 1040 and 3 LLCs?
Last year I used them. There were several mistakes made on my tax returns that I pointed out, which required going back and forth with their tax preparers. An example was a line item for alimony (I am single and have never been married). I ended up having to pay for their tax preparer’s time to meet with me and make corrections. After pointing this out, I would have expected the cost to be eaten by them. To my great surprise, this was not the case.
Additionally, the estimate for my tax preparation for this year was approximately $1,000 over the cost I paid last year (including the time I paid for them to correct their errors). To say I am shocked is an understatement.
Finally, when I sought out their tax strategy services, I specifically asked in the informational meeting if I wasn't acting a little prematurely, and if I should wait for my partner and I to be married in 2024 before making this investment, i.e. if tax strategizing would pay for itself in 2023 via significant tax refunds. I was told it would, so I made the investment. This was poor advice. Despite being assured that there would be significant tax savings on my 2023 taxes, there were no cost savings or advantages to having paid $5,000 for strategy in that tax year. The bottom line was that tax strategizing would only have made a significant difference the year my partner and I got married.
Finally, I was told, in their company's words that they are the "Rolls Royce [of taxes]" for real estate investors. The expectation established fell far short given all the mistakes and poor advice. I am left feeling that working with them was a wasted investment and decided to cut my losses and move on. I am working with a RE-focused CPA this year who charges a flat fee of $2,500 and is very responsive so far.

Just now seeing this thread 3 years later, somehow, but I've been working with Hall CPA for a year now, and they're the best tax and advisory firm I've ever worked with. I only use them for tax strategy and tax filing (I have my bookkeeping covered).
Their communication has been top-notch throughout each process, and the quarterly advisory calls are great to ensure I'm on the right track throughout the year, calling out where we need to make pivots, etc.
I own a bookkeeping firm (100% of our clients are real estate investors by the way), an education business, a little rental real estate, and do a small amount of private lending. So, obviously, experiences may vary, but they've been exceptional for me.
Your experience, @Jerrod Johnson, sounds horrible. Sorry to hear that! What services do you use them for?

Stay away. I posted my experience on google reviews so if want details can read there. The podcast was great and Brandon clearly knows what he is talking about but the team we got was not helpful and did not add value. Maybe they are overworked but the attention to detail and follow through just wasn’t there. This has been one of the worst experiences in terms of a service we paid for ever.
