Looking for a tax professional to file and give strategy advice

Hey guys, I need to find a good tax professional that won't require me to sell my kidneys to afford their services. Understand you get what you pay for but wanted to see who everyone used and hoping I can afford one. I have 2 LLCs that I need to file taxes for as well as my personal. Going forward, it'll be just 1 LLC and my personal. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Kenneth,

    With two LLCs and a personal return, pricing usually comes down to what actually happened inside those entities during the year and how the records are maintained — not just the number of returns being filed.

    I work primarily with real estate investors and small business owners, so situations like yours are common in my practice.

    My approach is more focused on accuracy and long-term planning than high-volume filing. If you’d like to talk through your situation, I’m happy to connect and give you a clearer idea of what to expect.

    Unfortunately, the Bigger Pockets rules prohibit us from offering you our help, like one colleague of mine just did. Not until the moderators move your post into the Classifieds area. Until then, you're supposed to initiate contact from your end.

    Maybe this explanation of how CPAs charge will provide some background:

    As far as your LLCs, we will need more details. In many cases, LLCs do NOT need a separate tax return, and they are combined with your personal tax return.

    @Kenneth Bentley

    I recommend finding an accountant who specializes in real estate taxation and is proactive instead of reactive when providing advice.

    Working remotely with your accountant will expand your options. The best person for the job may not be local.

    I would also recommend looking for an accountant who will work with you throughout the year. You want an accountant who can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the consequences of the financial decisions you are making throughout the year.

    Happy to answer any questions. Good luck.

    Hey Kenneth, you could try the pro finder on bigger pockets.  In the top bar of the website and lower left of the app.  Only drawback is even thought you enter your zip code, they are not necessarily in your state so they might not be familiar with state specific tax laws.  I also had one give me an extremely high quote (2500) but worth a try.  I searched my local investor fb group and found a couple on there from other recent posts.  I am interviewing one tomorrow.

    @Kenneth Bentley, hi. Tax fees can feel expensive, but incorrect filings or missed strategies often cost far more in the long run. With two LLCs and a personal return, it’s important to focus not just on filing but on making sure your structure is optimized.

    A strong CPA should ultimately save you more in taxes than they charge in fees. Look for someone experienced with real estate and LLCs who offers transparent pricing and includes planning and guidance, not just form preparation. The right advisor should provide strategy, clarity, and long-term value.

    there's a lot of great accountants on here and would encourage you to scour the forums and see who's active and who you might connect well with.

    Accounting services are generally not cheap. I don't know what you're expecting to pay but for reference TurboTax has a done for you version and I believe that's $1,800 per LLC.

    There are a lot of tax pros here on BP. Just go to Agents & Pros at the top and go to tax professionals. Affordable is different for everyone as one person may think it's affordable and another might think it's expensive.
