Does anyone have any experience? If so please reach out with details on what was required, what products/manufacturers/subcontractors were used to meet requirements of the program? Also, looking for reasonably priced reliable subs in the area.

There are maybe 5 or 6 GCs in Baltimore that truly understand the Chap Process and do it well.  Without using one of those GCs you will get smoked cause its a very unique process. I work with one of them, pm me

Hey JG, I have done a few city CHAP credits and so have my clients.  For the exterior the big expenses is that they will require wood windows (at least on the front) along with half round gutters and clapboard siding, brick, or masonry covered walls.  For the interior it all depends on the current condition of the home and what historic details are remaining.

There are a few good CHAP consultants in Baltimore who would be good for you to talk to.  PM me your email address and I can connect you to them.

    Hi Joseph,

Any chance you could share the names/contact info of the CHAP consultants you've worked with?  I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to pursue the credit on a mixed use property that I am closing on in late November and it would be great to talk to someone who has done it a few times.

@JG Stamas do you have an update on this? I am about to embark on this process and would like to know how things turned out for you.  @Joe Norman Does your home truly just have to be in one of these areas to take advantage

Yes, there are only certain neighborhoods in Baltimore City where the CHAP Tax Credit is applicable.  Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help!

@Lisa M. I would highly recommend using a consultant.  The guy i used was great he came out looked at the property and told me ahead of time if the property would be eligible and the things that I would probably have to keep.  They do CHAP all day and know it in and out.  Paid $1200 and they took care of all the filing and made sure we kept our renovation with in the scope as not to disqualify the house for the credit.

@James A. Do you mind if I ask who you used for the Chap consulting?
