Northern Atlanta Real Estate Meet Up/Mastermind.

Hey BP Community!

After being a two-time guest on the BP Podcast I have had quite a few people reach out to meet up, talk real estate, learn, share and help each other grow our businesses. 

This got me thinking, What better to do all this for the betterment of everyone than to bring all these driven experienced and new real estate investors all together so all of us can meet, share, learn and grow. 

We have all been to the sales pitch heavy environments at the REIAs around.  I am looking to build a quality alternative where no one is selling you anything. We would meet up exchange value, share stories and make friends all while holding each other accountable to our individual goals. 

I am happy to coordinate this entire meet up. I have already started to put together a large list of interested people to join the group. My one hurdle is I need a venue. I thought I had the perfect spot set up, but it recently fell through. Because I recently moved to the area to expand our company I don't have as many connections as I need to find a quality venue. This is why I am reaching out to all the local BP community for your help. 

I am looking for a room that will hold 30+ people on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm (starting Jan 31st). Because I am adamant about the meet up not costing money to attendees I am looking for a venue that is also free. Although I am somewhat flexible on location I am looking for something accessible to the majority of people so the ideal location would be in the Kennesaw, Marietta or even the northern top of I-285. to allow the people north to come south and the people in ATL to come north. I am reaching out to you all to find an unused community room, large conference room, Church, school, Anything we could set up some chairs and hang out in. I am strongly avoiding restaurants unless it has a private room because of the noise level it makes it difficult to have a conversation in large groups at most restaurants. 

Is there anyone is the Kennesaw, Marrietta, Smyrna, Vinings, Mableton, Cobb County, Northern Atlanta areas have any connections or know someone who may have a great spot for us to get started in?

    Look for restaurants with free back rooms if the guests buy food.

    Not the best but I've met at quite a few Po Folks back corner (or the functional equiv to Po Folks).

    Hi Jared!

    I am not in the Kennesaw or Marietta area.  I am in Savannah and would definitely be interested in meeting  in the group to talk about real estate and to learn more.  Is there any way that another meeting could be set up in the southern regions of the state, say close to the Savannah area?

    Restaurants are a good idea for meeting places.  In Savannah we have Carey Hilliards restaurants with banquet rooms for large groups of folks.

    Hi, Jared! It's a great idea, and I suggest not limiting to just "northsiders" ... We all need networking! As far as location, perhaps a HOA clubhouse? I know Pappadeaux's restaurant in Marietta at I-75 & Windy Hill has separate meeting rooms with doors that close so you could hear whoever is speaking. Keep BP informed!

    Sounds like a great plan - like minded, no guru courses, mixed with food? I'm in! 

    As for locations, I'm from Alpharetta, but a few years ago, I met a different group in Cumming, (near GA-400 (exit 14)  and near Hwy 20), but physically on Hwy 9 at a restaurant that has a front porch area - that was quite large. We used to meet there without cost, as long as we ordered food. Forgot the name, but I remember the location - it's a sport bar type restaurant, and the food was good. This location is a bit north for some people though - but can be an option depending on where most people are coming from. Just let me know if you need someone to inquire from the owner...and sample the food!

    I actually just listened to your latest interview on the podcast while on my long roadtrip from ATL back to the northeast for the holidays.  I am new to site and the space and was getting ready myself to reach out to you to simply thank you for your sharing of information and to offer any help that I can in Atlanta.  I do not have much in the way of direct real estate help however being in Atlanta for 5 years now I have a fair amount of connections (business and personal) and resources that might be helpful and know the city fairly well.

    So your post about this meetup is timely!  

    I have both a clubhouse at my apartment complex that could be used as well as a conference room and a large office space of my company's that could be used.  The apartment complex is in Inman Park and the office Its a corporate setting in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

    Hi @Jered Sturm,

    I am in the Kennesaw area as well and definitely interested in joining your meet up.  I may have a space as well at my church.  I am checking right now on availability.  There is currently a Bible study meeting at the space on Tuesdays, but they may be using one of the smaller rooms.  Is Tuesday the only night you would be available?

    I would love to be part of this get together and will reach out to my network to see what's out there. In the meantime, what are we looking to do as far as food and beverage, if anything?

    @Damir Kamber I was completely unaware you had to be "plus" or "pro" member to respond to this thread. Thanks for letting me know. I haven't thought too much about food or beverage. Ill lock in the venue first and see what accommodations it has. The meet up I was part of in Ohio we would charge $5 and that would go to ordering pizza for the group.

    @Richard Balsam  Thanks Richard it will be a pleasure to have you in the group. Thanks for the location suggestion I am shooting for a spot on the northern edge of 285 allowing the maximum amount of people access to the venue so I think the cummings location will be a little to north for us, but good thoughts and I appreciate the suggestion.
