Yesterday we finished recording an episode of The House Flipping Show with @Harvey Yergin IV which should air sometime before the end of 2019. Very informative show folks, Harvey and his wife hit the ground running in Columbus, Ohio and avoided a lot of rookie mistakes when they got started. He shares tips on how you can do that.
Who else is interested in coming on to talk about flipping houses? We would really like to talk to / feature flippers from some of the more expensive markets like Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Honolulu, Washington DC, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, Portland, Raleigh and Miami.
In this episode of The House Flipping Show James Wise interviews Harvey Yergin about how he and his wife were able to make a $31,000 profit on a house they flipped in Columbus, Ohio even though it was their very first flip. During the show James and Harvey discuss everything from how to cut out the middle man to increase your flipping profits, to which finishes to choose and why.

I don't meet your criteria for flipping in the expensive markets but my wife and I just finished up selling our first live-in flip where we profited $50,000 tax free. I have been in working in real estate for a few years now including helping manage an investors venture capital backed, real-estate investing start-up and now I am doing my own thing, working as a contractor, realtor, investing with my partner, and also with my wife.
I'm going to keep it rolling and hopefully will have a consistent flipping business soon, but if you're ever looking for a guest and want an episode geared towards getting started/ beginner episode I love sharing how I got started and want to help other people get going as well.

Yea that sounds pretty interesting. I assume the flip was somewhere in Connecticut? What was the acquisition and exit prices?
It was a live-in flip, where we did all repairs so throughout the two years we did track everything and did our best to estimate a rough labor figure for our work which brought us to around:
Rehab cost: $11,000
Total Cash Invested including rehab & closing costs: $18,500

@James Wise Hi James- not sure if you are still looking for people for your podcast, but I'd be willing to help out. I only have 1 flip under my belt (marketing it soon) but I have done BRRRR's, house hacking (living in my 2nd house hack currently) buy and holds, off market deals ect. My gf and I are 25 and 26 and have a small portfolio of 13 units. If we can be any help, please reach out.

Thanks for reaching out Michael. Tell you what how about you update me here on this thread when the flip you and your girlfriend are doing right now sells. I'd love to have you both on to do a show about how you as a couple got through your first flip......Reminds me of a flip or flop kinda vibe.
@James Wise haha I can tell you it's nothing like that show in real life...as I am sure you know. I'll keep you updated once it sells.
True that brotha...........Will wait for your updates. Looking forward to it, should be a fun show. If you guys want to get some video of the place we can utilize that in the show as well.
In the 5th episode of The House Flipping Show James Wise interviews @Tom Shallcross about the Million Dollar House Flipping business he runs while him and his General Contractor partner both work full time jobs. During the show Tom & James talk about how to raise private money, the importance of delegating tasks to the most qualified individuals, why being able to demonstrate a track record of success is so important to money partners, why you should never overprice your property and much more.

@James Wise Hey James- as promised- I wanted to follow up on the status of the flip I mentioned a few months back. We finally closed! We turned at 47k profit (pre tax) after all expenses and holding costs. This was our first flip and it was a roller coaster. Learned a lot, acquired a few extra grey's but the experience was priceless. The total project from start to close was 6 months. Let me know if we can be of any help!
